Hobbit Films and Book

It's true. I love them both  I watched "An Unexpected Journey" being familiar with the book because of my mom, but I never really read it. Then not too soon before "Desolation of Smaug", I read all of the book, and I loved it. I even used it for my english assignment :XD:
So even after watching the book and seeing the changes Peter Jackson made like the romance, Tauriel, Legolas, more of Gandalf and Bard, I didn't mind at all--unlike most people did.

The main reason why I support the films is because the book was actually missing a lot. It's like the films are reading between the lines more than they are completely changing the book all together. Ex: Gandalf disappears so much during the book, but you don't find out where he was until the end of the book. And all of the dwarves were memorable, where in the book the only dwarves that had character were Thorin, Dwalin, Balin, and Bombur. Although the romance was not COMPLETLY needed, it was a sweet addition. P.S: There was are THIRTEEN dwarves in the company, of course ONE of them is bound to have a love interest. Tauriel was a memorable character who was a good role model for girls (I don`t care what you say), and adding Legolas made sense because he could have been there by that time period in Mirkwood. I also like how they gave much more personality to Bard, Azog, and Bolg. The only complaint I have about the movies is that there were a FEW scenes where the CGI was distracting, Alfred was not really a good addition, and some parts could be boring (especially in Lake Town.) But here is the MAIN reason why I love both of them: they each did an amazing job portraying the ACTUAL hobbit. He wasn`t AS focused on as he was in the book, but it makes you care that more about the dwarves that he is helping. And the scenes Bilbo DOES have in the movie, they capture his personality perfect. Martin Freeman did an amazing job :w00t:
