Tauriel Stamp by DrakkenlovesShego12 Tauriel Stamp by DrakkenlovesShego12

As soon as I heard about this character, I was very angry because I thought she was going to be just a throw away love interest for Legolas, but I was surprized when I watched the "Desolation of Smaug" movie, which was amazing by the way :happybounce: I personally like the idea of Peter Jackson putting in a female character for the Hobbit movies, since the book had none. I love the way she is, and I love how she is a very skilled fighter (like Legolas.) Most of all, I love how she didn't really have a love connection with Legolas, because it wouldn't have made sense, but instead with Kili. Kili x Tauriel is my new OTP :heart:

Anyway, I know people dislike this character because either she wasn't in the book, or they just find her boring and pointless, but Arwen seemed more pointless and boring than Tauriel. Yes I know a lot of you are going to hate me for saying that, but Arwen always bores me, and she does nothing in the last two Lord of the Rings movies except cry and think about Aragorn. I know that in the book that their relationship was talked about more, but I found Tauriel was a better and more interesting elf than Arwen. Just my opinion, please no hating.

So yeah, I love this character, and I am looking forward to seeing her in the last movie :)

I thought I was going to love this character, she was okay. Not perfect. I have issues with her personality and she just didn't have the impact in the movies I thought she would. With a non-canon character addition, it's just not something welcome in the first place, but if you do add one you have to make that character fit in and have a purpose. A purpose other than providing a random female and a cheesy love fixation for two characters. Don't get my wrong, I really like the character, but I really favor her design and the idea behind the character rather than how it played out on screen.
First off, I absolutely hated Kili and Tauriel. It could have had potential to be good, but they picked a situation that had been done previously in the series and they also executed the whole romance thing to be cute and without substance. I personally cannot stand relationships like that. It's focused too much on physical attraction and not enough on actual bonds and friendship. You can't seriously know and love a person you don't know. So yes, "without substance." It happens too much these days. You need more of a connection than a disturbing affinity for stars. No, just no. Before the movie came out I thought she was just going to be a love interest-side kick for Legolas too, which was somewhat true of the actual film. But blehh. Like I said, the executed a lot of these things to be way too stiff and generally annoying to me. I think the chick should be single and awesome XD Hey, that's what Legolas is! Why can't any female characters in these movies be single and awesome.
That being said, I think Tauriel being the center of this love-triangle damaged the impact of the character in a lot of ways. I just didn't buy her as being reputable and wise. She also healed Kili, which is something I don't think a elf of the guard is trained for.
Either things just really didn't add up, or they are waiting to explain some things the battle of the five armies because there are too many inconsistencies in the film.

So yes. I saw this stamp and I just had to complain about Tauriel to someone. We nitpick what we love XD
I don't know how this will turn out though... if you have read the hobbit you know what is going to happen with Kili in the next film so yeah ;;

I completely respect your opinion :) You do make some pretty good points. The main reason why I like her so much is because she cares much about all kinds of people, and does anything to help them, even if they are not her own kind. The romance (despite me loving it to death) COULD have been stretched out more, but honestly, you gotta admit: It could of been a LOT worse.

And yes I have read the Hobbit book, so I do know the fate of Kili, Thorin, and Fili :cries:

I like those aspects of her personality. I also like how she isn't blind to everything and stuck up like Thranduil, and also not a "yes man" like Legolas is to his father. She's pretty open-minded, nonjudgmental and intelligent.
Haha, that is very true. Since it's their own creation, they literally could have done anything with the romance. At least it didn't turn out worse than it did. The other thing I'm worried about is what is going to happen when Kili dies? I want his death to be important and have the same meaning it did in the book and not be about Tauriel. But since they have this mini romance going what's going to happen then? I kinda like Legolas and Tauriel together as like partnershippy, frendshippy people with a bit of romance mixed in (if that's how it was when the story began and the stuff with Kili didn't happen, it would have probably worked as long as it wasn't to romance based), but now, if they make her with Legolas after Kili dies I think it might ruin her character. I want the chick to be single in the end, but then you have the risk of them killing her off (because people have this idea in movies these days that strong females without romance are throw-away characters you can kill off). I don't want that to happen XD

I'm going to be so sad when Thorin, Kili and Fili die. I really love Fili :/

I may be a big Kiliel fan, but I agree with you 100% in the subject of Kili's death. I really hope it is important and not JUST focused on the fact that it sucks that he dies just because he fell in love. And I doubt Tauriel will go with somebody else, hopefully they will just keep her single. I have a feeling that Legolas would be there for her, but not in a romantic way. As for her dying though, a lot of people (including me) think that might be a possibility sadly :(

I love all of them, I am going to cry when they die :(

I have a feeling she dies, there's something that just screams 'Tragic Death Ahead' about her. In the books it says many elves protect and die for Thorin, she is probably one of them when Kili fights for his uncle.

Kili and Tauriel, YES the writers ruined it by taking it wayyy to fast.  I like the idea of them and they are very cute, shame. In the books the dwarves were in the dungeon for weeks, in the movies not even one day :(

sorry for butting in
